Controversia on your home screen

Install Controversia as an app, without any app store: an icon on your phone or computer, a full-screen window, and the profiles you read last available even without a connection.

On Android

Open controversia.us in Chrome.
Tap « Install the app » (or the ⋮ menu, then « Install app »).
Confirm: the icon appears on your home screen.

On iPhone and iPad

Open controversia.us in Safari.
Tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Tap Add.

On a computer

Open controversia.us in Chrome or Edge.
Click « Install the app », or the install icon on the right of the address bar.
Controversia then opens in its own window.

On a Mac with Safari

Open controversia.us in Safari (macOS 14 or later).
File menu, then « Add to Dock ».
Controversia then opens in its own window, from the Dock.

Without a connection

The profiles you read last (up to 30) and the home page stay available in airplane mode, with the date they were saved. Search, forms and pages you never opened need a connection.

What is stored

Nothing personal: no account, no tracker, no advertising. The pages you read are kept in your device’s cache only; you can clear it from your browser settings. The site only counts, anonymously, the openings from the app and the number of installations.

Updates

The app updates itself. When a new version of the site is online, a « New version available — Reload » band appears.
