2002–2006 / 2023: rape and two indecency offences involving Girl B — eight years' imprisonment
Ali Razza Hussain Kazmi knew Girl B when she was 13 and 14, while he was himself a teenager. The sentencing remarks describe him as intimidating and aggressive from the outset: he had, among other things, slapped and insulted her. Over approximately one year, while Girl B naively believed she was in a relationship with him, he engaged in sexual acts with her on numerous occasions, sometimes in public and in the presence of others. When she was approximately 14 and Kazmi was 16 or 17, he raped her near an underpass in Rochdale after she rejected his sexual advances. The judge found that he forced her to the ground, removed her clothing despite her pleas and committed the rape in front of other people, considering that it was a way of punishing her for refusing him. She also noted his lack of remorse. The final verdict comprised one rape and two counts of indecency with a child according to the sentencing remarks and reports of the verdict; GMP summarised the two non-rape counts as 'sexual intercourse with a child', creating a secondary discrepancy in terminology which is expressly preserved in the record. Kazmi was sentenced to eight years on 31 October 2023. The judge expressly stated that there was no evidence linking his offences to those of his co-defendants.
