Afghanistan: rapid withdrawal followed by emergency evacuation from Kabul

Under Kramp-Karrenbauer, the Bundeswehr completed its withdrawal from Afghanistan at the end of June 2021. After the rapid collapse of the Afghan government, Germany had to launch an emergency military operation to evacuate nationals and local staff.
