Le marché MBTA attribué à CRRC pour les nouvelles rames Orange et Red Line a subi d'importants retards. Le Massachusetts Inspector General a indiqué que les retards avaient commencé avant la pandémie et que le calendrier avait été renégocié, avec une livraison finale repoussée jusqu'en 2027 et une hausse du coût total.

Première enquête approfondie de l'UE au titre du règlement sur les subventions étrangères

En février 2024, la Commission européenne a ouvert sa première enquête approfondie au titre du règlement sur les subventions étrangères à propos de l'offre de CRRC Qingdao Sifang pour des trains en Bulgarie, estimant disposer d'indices suffisants d'une possible subvention étrangère distorsive. CRRC a retiré son offre le 26 mars 2024, ce qui a conduit à la clôture de l'enquête.
