2022: Knicks recruitment of Brunson — NBA investigation and loss of draft pick for premature negotiations

Investigation

The NBA concluded that the New York Knicks had engaged in free agency discussions involving Jalen Brunson before the permitted date and deprived the club of its 2025 second-round draft pick. The case received particular attention because of family and professional links between Brunson, his father Rick Brunson and Knicks president Leon Rose.

2014: photograph apparently showing two raised middle fingers — initial suspension overturned for insufficient evidence

Civil / administrative proceedings

A photograph taken during an Illinois tournament semi-final appeared to show Jalen Brunson making an obscene gesture with both hands. The IHSA initially suspended him for the following game, but its board overturned the sanction after hearing Brunson and reviewing additional evidence, finding insufficient proof of an intentional unsportsmanlike gesture.

No documented link with another published profile for now.

Two profiles are linked when a documented controversy of one names the other. The link points to that controversy and its sources; it does not indicate a personal relationship.
