Shelby Lynn affair in Vilnius: 'spiking' allegation, investigations closed and partial prohibition of statements in 2025

Investigation

Following a concert in Vilnius, Shelby Lynn said she had been 'spiked'. Authorities found insufficient grounds to prosecute Lindemann. In October 2025, the Landgericht Hamburg prohibited three factual formulations attributing the administration of drugs to Rammstein or its team, while allowing certain statements of perception or opinion.

'Cynthia A.' account of violent sexual encounter and judicial restrictions on certain media formulations

Allegations

A woman identified under the pseudonym 'Cynthia A.' described to NDR/SZ a sexual encounter in 2020 that she retrospectively characterised as abuse and an unequal power relationship, while stating that she had not explicitly said no. Subsequent press law decisions restricted certain formulations giving rise to suspicion of non-consensual acts.

Civil / administrative proceedings

In 2023, NDR/SZ discussed the case of a woman identified under the pseudonym 'Sybille Herder', who recalled waking after an evening in 1996 with memory gaps and pain. Alleged relationship with 15-year-old girl: controversy and insufficient criminal evidence

Investigation

An anonymous source claimed to have had a sexual relationship with Lindemann when she was 15. Berlin prosecutors stated in 2023 that suspicion of exploitation of a power imbalance with an underage partner could not be substantiated because the witness had remained anonymous.
