1997 Intervilles: Puy du Fou team favoured, with 2026 testimony claiming Retailleau knew of cheating before live broadcast

No legal proceedings

Bruno Retailleau was part of the Puy du Fou team in the 1997 edition of Intervilles, at the centre of a scandal involving answers signalled by presenter Olivier Chiabodo. In June 2026, a former team member claimed on Complément d'enquête that Retailleau had reportedly been informed about the arrangement approximately ten minutes before the live broadcast; Chiabodo also said he believed Retailleau had known what was about to happen shortly before the programme.

Doualemn affair: expedited expulsion, successive judicial setbacks and further weakening of case in September 2026

Civil / administrative proceedings

Retailleau rapidly expelled Boualem Naman, known as Doualemn, to Algeria following online remarks calling for a "severe beating" of an Algerian opponent. Algeria returned him to France. The Paris Administrative Court subsequently suspended the extremely urgent expulsion, and other removal measures were annulled or challenged. On 3 September 2026, the public rapporteur requested annulment of new orders and restoration of the residence permit, considering in particular that the case was affected by irregularities and challenging the minister's authority to issue one of the orders.
