Civil / administrative proceedings

The Delaware complaint alleges that S4 delayed or withheld payments and shares due under the acquisition. S4 declined to comment at the time of reporting, and no judgment on the merits had been issued. The event concerns S4, founded and chaired by Sorrell; no personal debt of Sorrell is alleged.

S4 Capital: repeated profit warnings, share price decline and cost reductions

No legal proceedings

In November 2024, the shares reached a low following another warning. In November 2025, S4 cut its revenue forecast for the fourth time that year and also warned on profit. The group intensified cost reductions; Sorrell attributed some difficulties to reduced client budgets and delayed contracts.

WPP internal investigation into personal conduct allegations and Sorrell's departure

Investigation

The press subsequently reported allegations of harsh treatment of employees and an allegation of hiring a sex worker with company money. Sorrell vigorously denied the latter allegation. WPP had specified that the sums involved were not material, and no public finding established embezzlement or a personal criminal offence.

MediaMonks: WPP accuses Sorrell of breaching confidentiality after departure

Civil / administrative proceedings
