2024–2026: survivor's request for Siyab to be deported after serving his sentence removed from her court statement

Civil / administrative proceedings

At the sentencing stage in 2024, a survivor wanted to request in her statement that Mohammed Siyab and Mohammed Amar be deported to Pakistan following their release. According to the statement document seen by the media outlet, that section was removed before the statement was read in court; the prosecutor explained that the question of whether they could remain in the United Kingdom was a matter for the Home Office. In 2026, the survivor publicly reiterated her criticism. No individual deportation order against Siyab was identified in the public sources consulted up to 9 September 2026.

2003–2008 / 2024: two rapes, sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and trafficking in Operation Stovewood

Conviction

Mohammed Siyab was prosecuted as part of Operation Stovewood for offences committed in Rotherham between April 2003 and April 2008. Following the trial at Sheffield Crown Court, he was convicted of two counts of rape, one count of sexual intercourse with a girl under 13 and one count of trafficking within the UK for sexual exploitation. The case concerned two victims aged 11 and 15 when the offences began, both of whom had spent time in the care system. Sources describe grooming involving cars, cigarettes, alcohol, cannabis and money; only acts judicially attributed to Siyab are treated as his personal responsibility. The CPS's initial statement recorded a sentence of 25 years' imprisonment with 12 months of extended licence; that sentence was subsequently subject to a separate judicial correction.

A report dated 6 November 2024 indicates that, following an administrative error, Mr Justice Slater resentenced Mohammed Siyab at Sheffield Crown Court. His prison term was reduced by one year, from 25 to 24 years. The same report states that the release arrangements were changed to require consideration by the Parole Board. BBC and ITV pages concerning the sentence also report 24 years' imprisonment with one year of extended licence, while the CPS's initial statement continues to show the previous sentence of 25 years with 12 months of extended licence.
