Sexual assault and harassment allegations: investigation closed in 2023, then new civil-party complaint in 2024

Investigation

Sophie Tissier accused Éric Coquerel of sexual touching that she says she experienced at a party in August 2014. A complaint filed in July 2022 led to a preliminary investigation into sexual assault and harassment. Paris prosecutors closed the case without further action in February 2023 because the offences were insufficiently substantiated. In June 2024, the complainant filed a new complaint with an application to join proceedings as a civil party, seeking the opening of a judicial investigation.
