Civil / administrative proceedings

After posting a sexually explicit and homophobic tweet targeting MP Alex Greenwich in 2023, Latham faced two separate civil proceedings. In separate proceedings, NCAT found unlawful homosexual vilification and sexual harassment in April 2026, ordering, among other remedies, 100 000 dollars in damages and the removal of posts.

Rosehill altercation and Racing NSW disciplinary action: initial ban, then parliamentary committee considers investigation probably "retaliatory"

Investigation

Following a verbal altercation with Steve McMahon at Rosehill Gardens in April 2025, during which Latham acknowledges swearing, the Australian Turf Club imposed a twelve-month ban. Racing NSW subsequently opened its own investigation and brought two disciplinary charges. As Latham was a highly active parliamentary critic of the regulator, the Privileges Committee was asked to determine whether the investigation constituted retaliation for his parliamentary activity.

Repeated disclosure of privileged parliamentary information: Privileges Committee finds series of contempts

No legal proceedings

In November 2025, the NSW Legislative Council Privileges Committee found that Latham had disclosed privileged contents of a Law Enforcement Conduct Commission report relating to Operation Askern on four occasions, three of them after being explicitly warned of its status. The committee considered these disclosures a series of contempts of Parliament. In the same report, it also found that he had twice disclosed an individual's private address without justification, constituting an abuse of parliamentary freedom of speech.
