Social media ban for under-15s: Attal proposal substantially rewritten following Council of State opinion

Civil / administrative proceedings

Attal made banning social media for under-15s a defining political proposal, and his parliamentary group introduced a bill including age verification, a digital curfew for 15–18-year-olds and parental responsibilities. The Council of State's opinion led to the removal or rewriting of several provisions, some of which conflicted with European law or fundamental freedoms.
